Thoughts on Tabloids

So, I've finally arranged for some time alone at home, where I can slouch around in my 'jammies and partake in unconstructive activities like reading tabloids online and hmm... blogging.

Yes, yes... the ever self-conscious narrator is aware of the pointlessness in keeping a blog with no real content to speak of.

Anyhow, (to increase the literary, intellectual merits to this post) even the most mundane, commonplace and apparently senseless things in life can be warranted merit. And don't quote me on that, I think the post-modern abstract artists make the best of that concept.

Yes, yes... in case you have no sense of humour and reading skills, the above comment was said in jest, I have absolute respect for all artists. So chill yea? All ye anal retentive people.

Anyhow, as I was saying, reading tabloids can be rather thought provoking as well. There was this particular article on Jennifer Aniston trying to quit smoking which featured (surprise surprise!) pictures of her looking really gorgeous.

Yes, yes... I am female, but gender doesn't give anyone exclusive rights to admiring god-given, (make that man-induced) aesthetics. Fine fine... call the spade the spade. Let's all click on the link and check out Aniston. Sheesh!

So yea. Aniston is adorable/hawt( I <3 !!! Sorry, couldn't resist being juvenile). But despite her trademark hair, the affable smile etc. her man was tempted/lured/stolen/attracted (this is dependent on which camp you were on) by Angelina Jolie.

I mean, being mere mortals, the only fair assessment we can make is that Jolie is the dark, aloof type while Aniston (or at least she appears to be) the wholesome girl next door type. Now, it would be unfair to compare the two contrasting types of beauty, so what kind of conclusion can we draw?

Possibly:
1. That no matter how gorgeous you are, there'll be someone who will steal your man?

or

2. That we are all beautiful in our own rights and cannot be compared?

Again, the nature of the question asked is dependent on which camp you're one. I was on Camp Aniston. But looks like that camp has been disbanded for good now.

Sigh.

But back to the Aniston-Angelina showdown: If beauty was the only factor (which it very likely isn't) that constituted the establishment and the eventual breakdown of a relationship, then that relationship would have been laid on a really shallow foundation.

And if its such a shallow relationship in the first place, then what's the point of being even in that relationship?

Then, I saw this: Britney Spears being a far cry from her earlier glorious self.

Therefore, perhaps we should all take a leaf from Spears "awesome" marriage:

Doesn't matter if you look like crap, just make a bullocks of money and marry down.

:S

That is no hope for the human race.

And that includes me.

*gag*
