Down with Smarty Pants!

I'm honestly quite sick and tired of the people who go on about how thinking and intelligent they are and how much other lesser beings need to grow a brain and to stop being such a bourgeois Singaporean.

Oh please! You, with your snazzy computer sitting there toying with idle time in the evening, ARE emblematic of the bourgeois.

What makes it worse is that these people have no distinguishable talent, well... with the exception of coming up with trite fragments of a comeback. Really, if you're so smart and enlightened, then go DO something about it. Stop hiding behind the mask of cynicism and world-weariness! Being jaded is only cool when you're 15 and newly introduced to irony, ambivalence and subversion. Now that you're a generation past adolescence, kindly grow up. You do realize that the real adults who mean something to the world have done something to contribute to progress right?

It is not about being a blind follower of mainstream thoughts, neither is it about resigning ourselves to fate. This rant is about how annoying the uppity attitude of these people are.

Yes, yes. Every text is self-reflective. And no, I'm not claiming to be more enlightened or more out of the box than these people. But at least I know my place in the great intellectual cosmic.

And to prove it, this is it. Rant over.
