A smack in your face error

There are times when the student outshine the master. Then there are times when teacher knows best.

This is such a time.

I actually let this one off once last year. But... tsk tsk.

See me after class.

Talk about intertextuality

From Wikipedia:

Intertextuality is a relationship between two or more texts that quote from one another, allude to one another, or otherwise connect. In the work of Roland Barthes, intertextuality is the concept that the meaning of an artistic work does not reside in that work, but in the viewers. In the work of Julia Kristeva (who coined the term in 1966), intertextuality suggests the interdependence of texts, the continual deferment of meaning through and between texts.

First I lifted this, which was in turn lifted from somewhere else. Then, I realized that someone referred to it, here. Which was then picked up by him.

Phew! That was a mouthful. But I'd say: literary concepts can be more complicated than real life sometimes.

Only sometimes.

Other times the unnecessary jargon that accompanies academic discussions discombobulates more that they illuminate.

But then again, the little theatrical performances that characterize our lives create rather sticky situations that if we cannot suck up, have to stick with.

It seems like I'm speaking in rhymes and riddles, but no sire, actually I'm just reenacting the constantly interrogating subversive but never explanatory aspect of Gothic literature.

But "Let us make a bargain never to refer to this again" lest someone stumbles upon my linguistic playground while in quest for something more intellectually substantial.

Like I did.

Aaahhh, the satisfaction of voyeurism.

Lost

Like a defeated general standing on a mount, the pungent stench of failure swirling in the nose with the sour curl of rising tears. The burden to be smiling and strong breaking your back.

Solidarity, solitarily.

Words so close but yet so different.

Separated by one degree, one person.

By who? You ask.

By you.

Oh Noooooo......

I received an IOU reminder from the owner of my soul that he-whom-must-remain-unnamed would be collecting his debt on the 19th of June. On that fateful day, the brotherhood would want me to have blood drawn, prove my courage by exposing me to radiation and then, I'll be brainwashed. After which, I'll spend the rest of my days at a Notorious, Infamously, Evil place...

Woe! Woe!

I'm afraid of the world of cut throat bread winning!

*crumbles and weeps*

What are u doing up so late?

A couple of people asked me this question just now. Well, not so 'just' coz even though 1 am is/was late to some, this nocturnal creature is fond of her panda rings. Plus my annoying brother isn't even home yet. Surely I must maximize this rare occasion of unbridled joy by hogging, I mean, spending some 'me-time' in front of the computer, no?

Doing what you might ask? Nothing really, just bumming around and watching nonsense things online. Make that entertaining nonsense things online... Like this: which is a really funny bit of masterpiece. Kinda reminded me of the Goth girls' plan to go bursting all the balloons along AS1 as a subversive act in challenging the alienating capitalist dimension of Vee-Dae (obviously someone has been paying attention in class ;p). It would have been a great idea to bring along a video camera and catch the reaction of the bouquet carrying girls as they burst into pathetic, uncontrollable puddles of tears.

*Buahaha* You! You! Mindless bourgeois! Cry! Cry!

Hmm... What's that sour taste in my mouth?

Hah!

Anyways, with all the homo-talk going in lit and gender class, this gets to me. It being based on a true story renders it with a lot more pathos. Life never should end like this.

piece of peace

If you ask me, I'm honestly sorely disappointed that we won't be participating in the tournament this year. Really...very...

It was my initial intention to petition, to question, to push for a reconsideration of the final decision. But even as I spoke, I realized that my good intentions had to be subsumed under a greater intention of submission.

So there. I've said my piece and made my peace.

Updates

To the dozen faithful readers,

Thanks for surfing pass here and adding tags to this blog. It's nice to know that what I write is read.

Sorry for the last of posts, have been busy these days participating in online discussions. So, regrettably, my quota of words to type have been depleted by ivle forums.

Just some quick updates to let you know what I've been up to while you don't see me. =)

Met up with zhenbe and her beau, was great to catch up and share with my 'qing mei zhu ma' (green brows bamboo horse: Despite my relative bilingualism, I have no idea how this Chinese idiom works) friend.

Had something I've been praying for 5 years answered. I'm super uber ultra pleased by that... still am. =)

Presented 2 presentations in 2 days. Phew! That was tiring.

Also had 2 huge blisters on 2 feet in 1 day. And trust me, they really are like waterbags ready to burst... well, as far as blisters go.

Have to catch up on ISM now. Very, very, very far behind. Sigh...

Ta!

Beginning of the happiest day of my life

On the morning of the happiest day of my life. *beams*
If I knew this is the reason I've been glowing, I would have told my dad I was in love. Think he'll appreciate it...

chu san

As the last standing Arts CGL, I invited the (old), [the word is in parenthesis because age is really relative. And with them, I'm relatively young. Hurhur!] Arts CG over to my place on the 3rd day of new year. Being New Year... we ate. Anyways, here's the spread and I've labeled MY contributions.

Here's my baby close up...

And please remember to wipe the drool off.

Late Night...again

I'm actually still up though I'm all ready for bed, my bag for tomorrow packed, I've read all I've wanted to read online and MSN is down.

Coz I'm stressed.

It's really icky to be stressed after 6 days of non-school. But here I am, living proof that the impossible is always possible.

Now that I've started complaining about stress, I guess I sorta have to mention what it is/they are which are causing the dumps. Fully aware that I might be accused of being the mean/soft-ass biatch I am, I'm gonna leave this cliff-hanger as such. After all, no one likes to read a whiney post.

So what is the point of this post then? (you might ask) Well, dear reader (sorry for the pseudo-literaryness, trying to re-read Jane Eyre now) this whole tirade is simply a call for attention/TLC. Bloggers like they say, are attention whores.

And I seem to sell out at a low price.

*bleahz*
